Gangavaram Port celebrates International Day of the Girl Child

Visakhapatnam: Gangavaram Port celebrated the “International Day of the Girl Child” with over 120 female students at Zilla Parishad High School, Gangavaram village. This year's theme for "Day of the Girl Child" is "Digital generation."

As a part of the initiative GPL conducted a drawing competition at the school for students from 7th class till inter on the theme of Digital Generation, GPL team had a discussion with the students and also awarded the winners of the competition. This program was designed to improve the education of female children and provide them with a safe and conducive environment.

“Day of the Girl Child” is meant primarily to raise public awareness about the problems girls face globally, such as the lack of access to education, inadequate nutrition, forced child marriages, and the lack of legal rights for girls.


According to Gangavaram Port Management, “It’s our endeavour to support girls in their education and help them with skilling & development. It is important for women to be empowered and lead positive life. We will continue to support similar initiatives for the development of a stronger society.

The program was attended by Shri BG Gandhi, CEO, Gangavaram Port; Shri Sambashiva Rao, Smt. Madhavi Ganapathi, Counsellor Disha Police station, Visakhapatnam  Swapna Priya Reddy HM, ZPHS Gangavaram along with the port officials & staff of the school.
